It's been a few days since I did any outdoor riding, so I was feeling the itch to get out. I was in Durango Colorado for a couple of days, getting in a little bit of skiing, so that was a good excuse for not doing any riding. I got in a wonderful day on the slopes at Purgatory, (Durango Mountain Resort). The snow was deep and powdery, and I had a blast. On the way back, we made a detour into Chaco Canyon, and checked out some ancient ruins. That provided a nice spiritual recharge to the system. We only had time to explore one set of ruins, the Pueblo Bonito, so a return trip will be planned. Here is picture of the Pueblo Bonito ruins.

I took the road bike out for little ride in the afternoon. I wasn't feeling vary fast, so I didn't do any time trialing, or bring along the heart rate monitor. I made two climbs up to the La Luz trailhead, and then one climb up to La Cueva. On the second climb up to La Luz, I passed a guy like he was standing still. It felt kind of nice doing that to someone else, rather than always having it done to me.

I had intentions of doing one more climb by riding up to the tram, but it started to rain lightly, so I headed back to the house.

It was an overcast day, and fairly warm, with temps around 60.
