My days of retirement from the world of employment are over. I started working last week, and I received my first paycheck today. I decided to go for a bike ride by way of the credit union, and deposit my check. I headed down Paseo, and there was a very strong headwind. I had to pedal hard just to go downhill. About a mile or so down the road, I saw a gigantic tumblewood, blowing up the hill, coming right at me. I stopped and got my camera out of my backpack, and took this picture of the tumbleweed, just as it swerved into the road, and headed across the street. That thing was huge. Traffic goes 55 miles an hour on that stretch of road, and if a car would have hit it, it could have done some damage.

I continued on to the credit union, to make my deposit, and then rode through the neighborhood to Florence, and took it to San Pedro. I went up San Pedro to the frontage road, and turned onto Tramway to make the climb back up the hill from the casino. I now had a powerful tailwind behind me, pushing me up the hill. On the way up, I was hoping that the buffalo would be near the fence again, so that I could get a picture of them, but they were too far away for a good shot. I rode all the way up to the La Luz trailhead, then went down and rode up to La Cueva, and then headed for home.

It wasn't a cold day, with temps in the low 60s, but the wind made it seem cool. I kept my windbreaker on the whole time, but at least I was wearing shorts.
