I rode over to Tierra Monte on the road bike, and did a time trial up to the La Luz trailhead. It took me 23 minutes, which is a minute more than my fastest time, which was on my slower tires. I'm not getting any faster, and it's a little bit frustrating. I can try to blame it on sore legs from my crash the other day, and also from playing baseball, but it's a lame excuse, if you know what I mean.
After the first climb, I rode back down and did a second climb, staying out of the saddle the entire way. I won't tell you how extremely slow this second climb was, but I don't do that for speed, but rather to try and gain strength. I hope it's working, but I have my doubts.
I rode back down and did a third climb, this time staying in my granny gear, and taking it easy. A woman passed me at the very beginning, but later on she was stopped about halfway up, and she never did make it to the parking area.
It was another nice day, with temps in the 60s again. It's supposed to make it into the 70s for the next two or three days.
