The Thursday night group ride was scheduled to depart from the Chamisoso trailhead, and head out on the coyote trail. Only 6 people showed up for the ride, because an email went out cancelling the ride, due to strong winds. Even if I had seen the email, I still would have showed up. I can understand cancelling rides due to rain, snow, mud, etc., but wind? It was super windy in Albuquerque, but it was much less so, in Tijeras. Plus, the hills and trees, tend to block a lot of the effect of the wind.

It turned out to be a really nice night for a ride, and we rode on some fun trails. I'm not very familiar with the trail system at that end of the forest, so it was nice going out with people who knew where they were going.

I wasn't feeling very strong, and I struggled to try and make some of the slippery, rocky climbs. I wasn't the only one who was having to get off and walk. Fortunately, it wasn't in too many places.

We saw a hawk flying around, at one of the spots where we stopped to regroup.

It was a nice evening for a ride, with temps in the 60s. It was breezy, and a little bit cool.
