I waited until almost 10:00 in the morning before heading out, because I wanted it to be warm enough that I wouldn't need a jacket. It was a tiny bit cool, but once I started pedaling I felt good. I wanted to make good time, so I rode down Tramway instead of the bike trail. It didn't turn out to be much faster, because I had to stop at just about every traffic light.

I finally made it old 66, and headed for Tijeras. I kept a good pace going, and turned up S337, and headed for Raven Rd, to go and pick up the mail. On the last little climb before the mailboxes, there was a very fit, tattoed guy, jogging down the hill. After I picked up the mail and headed back, the guy was sprinting up the hill. Very impressive.

I headed down the mountain, and I noticed that the dirt had been swept up from the shoulder. That improved the riding conditions a bit. The wind picked up as I headed back through Tijeras Canyon, but it wasn't too bad. I felt like I was slicing through it, rather than fighting through it. I was cruising along, and passing a couple of guys, but just to make sure I didn't get too cocky, two guys went flying by me as I approached Four Hills.

Once I reached Tramway, I headed for home on the bike trail. I usually don't like to push my luck next to traffic, when I'm headed back on the home stretch.

It was a beautiful day, with temps close to 80.
