I headed over to Tierra Monte to get in some hill repeats, on the "really hard half mile." I wanted to do something a little bit different for a change.

Just as I got to the bottom of the hill, there was a guy coming down the road on a mountain bike, and no helmet. He was talking about how much fun that downhill was. I know what he's talking about. I told him, "It's a blast!" That's what more than 45 miles an hour can do to a person. I was thinking about what 45 miles an hour would do to your head if it hit the pavement, but I didn't say anything.

I took the turnoff to the Tierra Monte neighborhood, and did hill repeats on that first half of a mile. I ended up doing ten of them, in total. About two thirds of the way up, there was a witch's broom bush, and it smelled great, each time I passed it. On one of the climbs, a rabbit came running out of the bush carrying a twig in it's mouth, with one little flower hanging on to it. It was really cute.

It was sunny hot day, with temps in the mid 90s. I was sweating like a river.
