I had all of my things ready to get an early start on this ride, until I saw my front tire which had low air pressure. Since I filled it up the night before I knew that I had leak so I took the time to change out the tube. Better to do it at the house then along the side of the road somewhere. I didn't get out the door until a little bit after 8:00.

It was surprisingly warm that early in the morning, so warm in fact that I started out without my jacket. I headed down Tramway through Tijeras Canyon and then Cedar Crest to my break spot where I scarfed down a PowerBar to get ready for the big climb. I headed up the climb and it was still warm enough that I didn't need my jacket. As I approached the ski area there started to be snow in the shady spots along the road from last weeks storm. I climbed up to the Capulin Snow Play Area and took a break there. I put my jacket on at this point to make the rest of the climb but I really didn't need it.

I made the climb up to the gift shop without stopping at 10,000 feet, and took another break at the top. It was 42 degrees up there which was very comfortable. I didn't hang around very long at the top because I knew that it would be about 70 degrees at the bottom.

I took another break at the gas station at the bottom where I ate a Twix Bar and refilled my water. After a few minutes I headed for home. There was a little bit of wind through Cedar Crest but it didn't have much effect. I took one last break in Tijeras Canyon just to enjoy the day for a little while longer.

Streak Ride #59 is in the books and next month I get to put a new digit on the front. Time Flies!
