My wife called "Albuquerque, The Magazine" and suggested that they do a story about an old guy and his bicycle who can be seen riding around in the forest with his cattle dog, Sofie. I guess they thought it would be a good idea, so they sent a photographer to the house to take some pictures. His name was Don and when he got to the house we went over to Mars Court for the photo shoot.
Don positioned himself on Turkey Trot and on Wild Turkey and had Sofie and I ride toward him so he could take some shots. Sofie was shy at first, but after a few tries he was able to get some good pictures. We spent about ten minutes doing that and then Don said he had what he needed. He went back to his car and Sofie and I went for a ride.
We rode out Turkey Trot and then took a water break when we reached David Canyon. After a few minutes we rode up the canyon and then took Cajun Pine back to Wild Turkey. We drove back to the house from the trailhead.
It was a sunny afternoon with temps in the 50s. The trails were dry but that was not going to last. The next day it snowed a couple inches so I won't be back out there for awhile.
