Sofie and I waited until about 3 o'clock in the afternoon to leave the house in order to let the trails dry out. It rained very hard the night before and the ground was soaked in the morning. A sunny day and temps in the high 80s dried things out very nicely.

We rode over to the trailhead and then started down Wild Turkey. We stopped at the intersection with Cajun Pine because there was a giant sunflower standing there begging to have it's picture taken. We continued on Cajun Pine all the way to the big intersection where we stopped for another break. It was pretty hot out and I wanted Sofie to enjoy herself and not suffer.

The sky to the north of us looked very threatening and I didn't want to get too far from the trailhead, just in case a storm headed in our direction. I decided to ride up 106 to where it used to dead end and see what it looked like. It looks like someone has made the trail continue down the hill from where it used to just stop. I will save exploring that trail for another day.

We turned around and headed for home. We took David Canyon Road to the main road and then back to the trailhead. The dark skies ended up staying to the north of us but I didn't want to take a chance of getting caught out in the rain.

The ride was fairly short, but at least we got out on the trails a little bit.
