I bought the pro version of the runtastic bicycle app and I used it for the first time with a heart rate monitor. It provides a lot of information that can be posted to a website and made public. I don't choose to do that at this time, but you never know.

I played five sets of tennis in the morning before I did this ride, but they were easy sets so it didn't affect me very much. I wanted to set a baseline for riding down 337 to the Sheriff's Station and then riding back up to the house. I can use this ride to measure my progress as I try to get in better shape.

I started out about 2:30 in the afternoon and temps were in the 50s. As I started down the hill I was riding into a fairly strong headwind. I battled it for a while and then eased off a little bit as I got tired. I turned around at the bottom and headed back up the hill, hoping that the headwind would turn into a tailwind. It still felt like a headwind which often happens when riding in the east mountains.

It was a beautiful, sunny day, with temps in the low 60s down near the freeway.
