Sofie and I were heading over to Mars Court when we saw this bull snake sunning himself in the middle of Raven Road. He was at least four feet long all scrunched up and I'm sure he would be way over five feet long when stretched out. He was a big snake. Bull snakes are not dangerous and are great at eating mice. After I took a couple of pictures I scooted him off of the road.
Sofie and I continued our ride to Mars Court and then headed to Southern Crossing to ride to Pine Flat. We stopped for a break by the enchanted oak forest and then continued down to the highway. At the highway we waited for the cars to go by and then we dashed across the road. Sofie was a bit nervous but she didn't want to get left behind.
We took Deadman trail down to Pine Flat and then found the trail that hooks up with Gambel Spur which we took down to Thunderbird where we stopped for another break. Sofie was working hard and she needed a few minutes to rest. After a few minutes we started back and it was my turn to be working hard as this was the uphill direction. We rode up to Deadman and then took a another short break at the picnic tables that are there. While we were sitting there we heard a noise in the woods that got Sofie's attention, but we didn't see anything.
We took one more break before making it back to the house. Sofie was a little bit limpy after this ride so we will take a couple of days off.
