Two awesome mountain bike rides, on consecutive days. It's been a long time since that's happened. This ride was actually longer than the stated distance, but my speedometer sensor got knocked around, and I didn't notice it until, several miles were already missing. I rode on a couple of singletracks, that I missed yesterday. Trails 49, and 236. I did notice that they managed to bypass one of the really hard, steep, rocky, climbs.
I took trail 236 down the mountain, and it joins Otero Canyon near the bottom, right where the trail to Tunnel Canyon, also joins in. 236 is extemely rocky, and it looks to be the most difficult climb of them all. I decided to save it for another day, and rode up Otero Canyon, to trail 56. Trail 56 is pretty tough in it's own right, and requires a fair bit of walking to make it up to the top.
At one point on the trail, I stopped, and I noticed that some of the knobs on the right side of my back tire, were torn off, and basically, destroyed. I took it a little bit easier on the rocks, after that.
It was another fantastic sunny day, and not quite as hot as yesterday, with temps again, in the 80s and 90s.
