I took the mountain bike out, and hit the trails hard. I did everything in reverse, of what I have been doing recently. Trails that I had been going up, I came down, and trails I had been riding down, I went up. This was a very difficult ride, and I came across a number of places that forced me to get off and walk.

I managed to make my way to Tunnel Canyon, where I then took the highway down to the Ranger Station, so that I could get more water. I went back in at Tunnel Canyon, and climbed trail 236, to get back up the mountain. That trail was brutally rocky, and punished me without mercy.

Early in the ride, I climbed up Turkey Trot trail, and that was a tough challenge. That's a good trail on which to practice my short, intense, climbing bursts. I thought my lungs were going to burst.

It was a beautiful, sunny day, with temps in the 70s to the 90s.
