Don came up to the house, at about 9:00 in the morning, and it was cold and gray out. He said it was 15 degrees cooler up here, than it was in Albuquerque. We headed for Mars Ct. to begin our ride, and I was looking forward to showing him my "West Side Figure Eight". About fifteen minutes in to our ride, the clouds blew away, the temperature rose, and it became an absolutely perfect day.

We went on the singletrack trails all the way to Otero Canyon. Along the way, we passed a couple of hikers who had five dogs, and they weren't under control. We had to stop while the dogs acted aggressive, and the people made poor attempts at controlling the animals. Finally, they walked the other way, and we were able to continue our ride.

We climbed up from Otero, and continued all the way up to Turkey Trot Trail. I really like that trail. It seems to have a flow and a rhythym to it, that is a blast. It's also really tricky, and if your not careful, it will make you feel pain. No pain today, and we contined up 162, and back to Mars Ct.

This was a most excellent ride, under blue skies, and crisp air. Temps varied from the 30s, to the 60s.
