Streak ride #23, is now history. It was a beautiful, sunny day for a ride, and the temps were quite varied. It was in the 40s when I started, then warmed up to the 50s as I dropped down to Cedar Crest. As I climbed up to 10,000 feet, it cooled off in to the 20s, but it was tolerable, because it was so sunny. I took a picture of the radio towers, while I was at the top. On the way up, a car slowed down as it passed me, and a young woman leaned out of the window, gave me a thumbs up, and said, "you rock!". It was nice to get some encouragement, and it brought a smile to my face.

The downhill started out cold, but warmed up nicely, as I dropped in elevation. By the time I was back around 6000 feet, the temps were in the 60s. Most excellent!

I tried to make an effort at pushing myself a little bit on this ride. I wanted to keep my heart rate up, and maybe be a little bit faster, than in previous months. I came in 90 seconds quicker than last month, but not as big of a difference as I had hoped. I'm going to be doing more spinning in my kitchen, and weight training in the back bedroom, to try and shave more time off of the ride. If I could get about a half an hour faster, I could consider trying the ride, in the evening. Then I could spend my weekend doing things that are more useful, like cutting wood, or moving rocks.

I am such an idiot, but at least I'm a happy idiot.
