I'm finally back on the bike, after another two week delay. This time it was a combination of work and play, that has taken up my time. I really need to ride more consistently, because these layoffs make me suffer.
I rode the mountain bike over to Oak Flat, and headed down Mahogany Trail. I crossed over Juan Tomas, and took Bear Scat Trail, all the way to Harry's Trail. I was very pleased to see that there was no mud. Trail conditions were dry, and excellent. I came back up Bear Scat to Juan Tomas, and then took the other Mahogany Trail, back up to Oak Flat. I made a detour on FR 35, and then came back. It still surprises me that 35 dead ends, and goes nowhere.
Two big black labs charged me as I was heading back to the house. I heard a lady start yelling, and I saw one of the dogs coming at me from the side. I started yelling, and then I saw the second dog in front of me. I steered my bike right at him, to freeze him in place, and then flew on by. If they come after me again, I'm going to call the Sheriffs.
I rode at a fairly moderate pace, but fast enough to keep warm. Temps were in the low 60s, but it was breezy, so it felt a bit cool. It felt great just to be back out pedaling again.
