I had ambitious plans to go for a ride yesterday, but it didn't work out. I was less than a mile from my house, when I got a flat on my front tire. The worst part about it was the fact that it was in the middle of the tire, and it sprayed me with green, nasty, slime. I changed the tube in the Sunflower Meadows Park, and then went back home to get another tube, but I didn't feel like going back out to do a ride after that. I was depressed.

Today, I went over to a friend's house, and we went for an easy ride around the surface streets, for about eight miles. After that, on my way home, I decided to stop on old 66 by the Four Hills area, and ride "Hard as Hell Hill", and "Boulder Top Mountain". Those aren't their real names, only the names that I have given them. Anyway, Hard as Hell Hill kicked my ass, and Boulder Top Mountain pounded me into the ground. I was not up for the challenge. I did see a roadrunner at the start of the ride up Hard as Hell Hill.

I never did make it to the top of Boulder Top Mountain. I got very confused by the different roads, and wandered around aimlessly for about twenty minutes, before I managed to find the correct road. It seems like something has changed out there, or maybe it's just my mind, losing it.

I finally gave up, and took this picture. I call this laughing rock, because it looked like it was laughing at me, as I struggled to breathe. It comes just after one of the hardest climbs on the way up to Boulder Top. I've always had to walk that section.

It was a fantastic day, sunny, with temps in the 80s. I needed the difficult ride, to try and get myself back into the riding mode, again. This was a start.
