Streak Ride #30 is now in the books, and it was easier than the last few tries. I cut more than thirty minutes of time off of the last try, and added more than a mile an hour to my average speed. I'm making progress.

It was a nice day to make the attempt, with temps mostly in the 70s and 80s, with some upper 50s near the top. I needed my windbreaker to start the ride down, but I could have taken it off at the ski area.

On the way out I stopped at the atm on N14, so I could get some money to buy a gatorade at the gas station, on the way back. I only stopped for a break long enough to suck down the gatorade, and refill my camelback, and then I headed for home. I made the climb back up to Raven Rd., in stronger fashion than usual. I was feeling much better.

At the bottom of the mountain on S14 when I was heading out, I saw a wild looking guy beginning the climb up. He had long hair and a long beard, and a bike loaded with gear and water. When I was climbing back up toward home, I saw him pulled over, about six miles up from where I had seen him in the morning. I had ridden almost sixty miles, in the time it had taken him to go six. He was barely going one mile an hour. I wondered where he was heading, but I didn't stop to ask.

All in all, it was a great ride. There were quite a few spots where I had to deal with some strong winds, but I didn't let them get me down.
