I headed out in the morning, to ride up to the other house, and get the mail. It was quite cold when I started, with temps in the 20s. I took the mountain bike because I was afraid that there would be a lot of snow, ice, and dirt debris, along the side of the highway, going up S337. There was a lot of dirt, and the snow and ice showed up as I climbed high on the mountain. It was very cold up at the top, and I couldn't wait to get down to the lowlands, where the temps were much warmer. I had to warm up my hands for a few minutes before I headed down, and I kept them balled up inside my gloves, until I got near the bottom. On the way up, I was initially hit with a headwind, but it started to swirl around, and then it turned into a tailwind. Thanks for small favors.

Once I got down to the freeway, my fingers thawed out, and my attitude was much improved. I rode back through Tijeras Canyon, stopped for a short break at Central and Tramway, and then finished the ride back up Tramway, to the house.

The day was very sunny, and by the time I finished the ride, the temps had warmed up into the very comfortable 40s.
